Lacey police arrested and charged a township man with drug possession after responding to a report that the man was lying on the ground.
Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Oct. 26 call at 10:05 p.m., police said, at which time the male who was the subject of a call was identified as 23-year-old Joseph J. Caputo of Forked River.
An investigation at the scene led to his arrest on an outstanding no-bail warrant from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
Caputo, police say, was also found to be in possession of prescription pills without a prescription. The pills "included but were not limited to" Alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax, a statement from police said.
Caputo was transported to police headquarters and charged with the criminal offenses related to the possession of the pills. He was later transported to the Ocean County Jail where he was lodged on the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant.
