Route 539 Will Be Closed For A Portion Of Saturday For Marathon Race

A section of Route 539 will be closed for a marathon on Saturday, so drivers will have to detour during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Route 539 between Route 70 and Route 528 will be closed to traffic during those hours, Capt. Jack Sramaty said.

"Please take this into consideration and allow ample time to get to your destination," he said.

Detours have been set up for motorists during the marathon hours.

They include:

From South: Detour at Route 70: Route 70 East to left onto Route 547 (South Hope Chapel Road) to left onto Route 528.

From North: Detour at Route 528: turn left onto Route 528, then right onto Route 547, then right onto Route 70 West.
