Sammy's: A Hidden Gem In Laurel Plaza
Sammy's Pizzeria & Italian Grille offering a great variety of dishes for delivery or takeout!
Last time I was in Laurel Plaza picking up pool supplies and music memorabilia, the pizzeria operating between my two stops was Espo's. I remember that it was just one guy running the whole show. Approximately six months ago, the spot changed hands and I have been meaning to try them out ever since. Well, I finally had that chance and ended up being very glad I did.
Offering a full menu, Sammy's Pizzeria & Italian Grille serves a wide variety of pizza but doesn't just stop there. Their menu contains hot subs, cold subs, paninis, salads, burgers and entrees containing chicken, veal, seafood and more! Usually with a menu this large, I have a hard time deciding what to order but not today though. I went right for the Baked Raviolis.
Included with my meal, my salad came out with their house dressing on the side. This wasn't just your traditional lettuce salad. There were grape tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots throughout. I was impressed to see onions included. I just happen to think that onions add such a nice flavor to most dishes. For those people that are anti-onion, and I know a few, just ask for the onions to be left off.

With the salad, came out the bread straight from the oven. There is nothing better than warm bread being served with your meal.
A very healthy portion of raviolis came out next with just the right amount of parmesan sprinkled on top. The tomato sauce had a very tasty flavor to it and everything served tasted extremely fresh. This also goes for the ricotta that was filling the inside of the raviolis.

Anyone who knows the Lacey area also knows that there are plenty of pizza joints in town. However, I don't believe Sammy's needs to fear the competition. The young lady covering the front counter was very friendly and personable.
