School Budget To Be Voted On Again In Lacey
The Lacey Township Board of Education will convene to yet again vote on the upcoming year's budget.

LACEY, NJ — A special Board of Education meeting will be held this week as yet another vote is scheduled on the 2025-26 budget.
The school board has made several votes on different budgets over the past few months, but none have stuck as the district faces a multimillion dollar deficit.
A major sticking point has been a tax increase, and just how much that would be. The initial budget came with a 3.15 percent tax increase. That budget was rejected by the county. The board then amended the budget to include a potential 14.24 percent tax increase; that was shot down by the board.

Then came a "compromise" budget with a 7.57 percent tax increase. Though the budget was voted on with a 3-2 vote, it failed because two board members were missing and a greater majority was needed for it to pass.
This special meeting is scheduled for June 4 at 5:30 p.m., held in the High School Lecture Hall. Details on what the presented budget will look like were not immediately available.
