Services Set For Lacey Man, Vietnam War Veteran

Kenneth Lee Dunning, 73, worked for 40 years as a supervisor for the Ocean County Utilities Authority.

LACEY, NJ — Kenneth Lee Dunning, 73, of Forked River, passed away Sept. 16 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Dunning, from Old Bridge, spent the last 46 years in Forked River.

Dunning served overseas during the Vietnam War with the Marines. He was a member of the St. Pius X RC Church, where he volunteered during the carnivals, Bingo and was an Honorary Member of the Knights of Columbus, according to his obituary.

He also loved participating in all aspects of the local Boy Scout packs. He joined when he was young and continued his involvement during the time his grandsons joined. Dunning loved and adored his grandchildren and would do anything with them and for them.

A memorial gathering will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 21 at Riggs Funeral Home (130 North Rt. 9, Forked River), with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial of cremains will follow at Good Luck Cemetery in Lanoka Harbor.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
