Structure Fire In Waretown Under Investigation
The Ocean County Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that erupted in the Ocean Memorial Plaza on Saturday morning.

WARETOWN, NJ — The Waretown Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a fire early Saturday morning at Ocean Memorial Plaza, authorities said.
Upon arrival, the fire department’s deputy chief located an active fire in a store front of an occupied two-story mixed occupancy store and apartment complex.
A second alarm was requested for additional manpower due to multiple exposed storefronts and apartments above the fire.

Agencies from Stafford Township and Forked River provided aid to the fire department. The Barnegat Fire Department and Lanoka Fire Department also stood by to cover any other incidents in town.
There were no reported injuries and the fire was extinguished quickly. The incident is being investigated by the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office and Ocean Township Police Department.
