'Summer Lovin' Adoption Event Aims To Find Homes For Lacey Pets

Summer marks a slowdown in shelter adoptions, but Associated Humane Societies Popcorn Park is full to the brim:

LACEY, NJ — Summer is a slow season for animal shelters hoping to get pets adopted into loving homes, but the amount of animals going into the shelter never takes a break.

Associated Humane Societies Popcorn Park is hoping to clear out some room with their Summer Lovin' adoption event this Saturday, June 29, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1 Humane Way.

"All three of our AHS shelters are full to capacity, always, with wonderful, healthy pets that are with us through no fault of their own," shelter staff said. "We are at a point now where there are more pets entering the shelters than there are pets being adopted!"

Those who are looking to add a new furry member to their family are encouraged to stop by. Even if you can't adopt an animal at this point, Popcorn Park still invites you to visit.

"There are countless opportunities for you to get involved such as: volunteering, fostering, sponsoring a pet from a Share A Pet program, and more," the shelter said.
