Temporary Traffic Changes Ahead For Lacey's 5K Race On Saturday

The event includes a 5k race, 1 mile walk/run and a "Kiddie Dash."

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Motorists can expect a few temporary traffic changes on Saturday during the annual Lacey 5k race at Gille Park, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

The race is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. Portions of Veteran’s Way, Municipal Lane, Calvin Street, and Newark Avenue (north of Lacey Road) will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Special police officers will be on the scene assisting with traffic, the chief said .

The Lacey Township Public Works Department's recycling yard will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, he said.

The event includes the 5K run, a 1 mile run/walk and a Kiddie Dash for ages 2 to 11. Proceeds from the races will benefit substance abuse prevention, the township's Recreation Department and the Lacey Food Bank.
