Terrence A. 'Coach Stu' Stuart Of Forked River Dies At 70
Services were held for the former janitor and well-known coach last week.

Terrence A. "Coach Stu" Stuart died recently at his Forked River home. He was 70.
He retired from the Lacey Township school district as a custodian, but his heart was always centered around his coaching positions and community activities.

He was born in Jersey City and grew up in Kearny, where he graduated from Kearny High School.
It was there he met his high school sweetheart, and later married, Nancy (nee Markevich). He earned an associate's degree with honors at age 60, an accomplishment for which he was very proud. He retired as a custodian from Lacey Township High School.

Terry was a coach for the girls' softball and field hockey at Lacey High School and girls' field hockey in Barnegat. He immersed himself in activities at the school, including the high school fishing club. Terry was also a basketball referee for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents Allan and Jane (Toal) Stuart, his siblings Sandra Rosenback, Joseph Allan and his nephew Steven Stuart.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Nancy, two children, April Corio and Keith Stuart, Rosemary Myles and her husband Pete, nephews Randy, Richard and Casey, nieces Kimberly, Joanne, Beverly and Colleen. He is also survived by his grandchildren, David, Jorgina, Josh and Gabby, and many other great grandchildren great nieces and nephews.
A viewing was held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9, Forked River. A Funeral Liturgy was offered on Saturday at St. Pius the 10th Church 300 Lacey Road, Forked River. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lacey Township First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 289, Forked River, NJ 08731 in Terry's memory.
