Woman Who Struck Parked Car At Captain's Inn Charged with DWI

Karissa N. May fled the scene of the accident, which happened during the early morning hours of July 14, police chief says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police have charged a Lanoka Harbor woman with drunk driving after she struck a parked car near the Captain's Inn in Forked River, then fled the scene, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the Captain’s Inn at 1:46 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 on a report of a hit and run accident. He discovered the vehicle that struck the car was just up the roadway on Starboard Street, the chief said.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Karissa N. May, 28, Oak Hollow Lane, for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and refusal to submit to breath samples. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John's Law, DiBella said.
