Man Dead, Woman Injured In Mercer Co. Weekend Shooting: Prosecutor

A man and woman were found with gunshot wounds on Saturday morning, authorities said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – One man was killed and a woman injured during a weekend shooting in Trenton, Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey said.

Around 4:14 a.m. on Saturday, Trenton police were in the area of 300 East State Street and heard multiple gunshots.

Police responded to the 200 block of East State Street and found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Marquis Skillman, 38, of Trenton, was pronounced dead a short time later and the 39-year-old woman suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot to her leg, Marbrey said.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating. No arrests have been made.
