NJ Woman Dies In Police Custody, Prosecutors Investigating

TRENTON, NJ — Authorities are investigating after a woman died in police custody on Sunday, a spokesperson from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office told Patch.

Per attorney general guidelines, the spokesperson said Trenton Police notified the prosecutor’s office of an in-custody death on Sunday evening, which appears to be a suicide.

According to a report from NJ.com, police found the woman around 10:30 p.m. and called for emergency medical services, which then took her to a local hospital.

Authorities did not release the woman's identity, and further details were not available on Tuesday morning.
