Dog, Owner Killed In Mercer County House Fire
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation, authorities in Ewing said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A dog and their owner were killed in a fatal house fire Tuesday evening in Ewing, authorities said.
Ewing Police responded to a structure fire with possible entrapment on Boone Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Arriving officers saw flames coming from the home and they attempted to enter the house but were unsuccessful due to the heavy smoke and heat, authorities said.

On entry, officers found a single adult victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. A dog was also found dead by responding personnel. The name, age and gender of the victim has not be released pending notification to the next of kin.
Detectives from the Ewing Police Department Detective Bureau and detectives from the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office are investigating this incident.
