Another Burglary Reported at Old Colonial Lanes Site

As work continues to convert the old Colonial Lanes bowling alley into the new Colonial Entertainment Center, Lawrence Township police were notified that two trailers were burglarized this week. A similar break-in took place on the site in October.

For the second time in as many months, construction trailers have been burglarized on the grounds of the former Colonial Lanes bowling alley, which is in the process of being remodeled into a new entertainment complex.

Lt. Charles Edgar, spokesman for Lawrence Township Police Department, said the locks were cut off two trailers at the site in the 2400 block of Brunswick Pike (Business Route 1) sometime between 11 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, and about 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Stolen were two old refrigerators and some scrap metal, with a total estimated value of $450, he said.

The owners originally hoped to open the new Colonial Entertainment Center in October, but renovation work was delayed by bad weather – including Hurricane Irene – and they are now aiming to open in December.
