Anti-Trump Rallies Taking Place In Mercer County On Easter Weekend (See Locations)

Another round of protests is being planned across the nation, including in Trenton and Lawrence Township.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Another round of demonstrations against the Trump administration will take place across the nation on the Easter holiday weekend, with events reportedly scheduled in Mercer County as well.

Organizers with 50501 are calling for a national day of action on Saturday, April 19, against the “anti-democratic and illegal actions of the Trump administration and its plutocratic allies.”

“50501 is a peaceful movement,” activists say on their website. “Violence of any kind will not be tolerated.”

According to an online tracker, local events – each organized independently – will be taking place in Lawrence Township and Trenton:

  • Trenton: 12 p.m. onwards, at the plaza between the State House Annex and the New Jersey State Library. Attendees can also bring non-perishable food items (no glass or cans) to support the community.
  • Lawrence Township: From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Central Park Lawrence NJ100 Dave Nevius Way, 08648, Lawrence Township. While Trenton is the primary location, attendees will hold signs along Eggerts Crossing Road. "It is imperative to remain peaceful and not engage counter-protesters," the organizers said. Plenty of parking is available along the park but may run out.

This weekend’s events are being organized in the wake of a national day of protest against President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the federal budget cuts that took place on April 5, which was spearheaded by different organizations.

More than 1,200 rallies of various sizes took place across the United States on April 5, with some sources estimating the overall attendance at over a million people. Local "Hands Off" protests were held in Princeton, Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Maplewood, Montclair and West Caldwell.
