Arrest Made Following Fight Inside Quaker Bridge Mall

The fight, which allegedly involved a dispute over a woman, remains under investigation by Lawrence Township police.

A Sunday afternoon fight at Quaker Bridge Mall that allegedly involved a mall security guard and two other men remains under investigation, Lawrence Township police spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar said this morning (Dec. 19).

One of the alleged combatants, Bobby L. Langley III, 21, of the 1000 block of Maple Leaf Drive in Lawrence, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, Edgar said, noting that Langley was also wanted in connection with an outstanding warrant issued in Bordentown.

Edgar said it was 3:25 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 18) when police received the first of several 911 calls reporting a fight in progress on the upper level of the mall near the J.C. Penney store. Numerous police officers immediately responded to the mall, which is located in the 3300 block of Brunswick Pike (Route 1).

The fight had ended by the time officers arrived but Langley was allegedly still in a “highly-agitated state” and was being detained by mall security, Edgar said.

He said Langley allegedly continued to be uncooperative and was taken into custody by police.

The fight allegedly involved Langley and a 22-year-old friend against a 21-year-old mall security guard in some kind of dispute concerning the security guard’s girlfriend, Edgar said.

He said the fight remains under investigation by police and it is too early to tell if additional charges will be filed.

Langley and the security guard were treated for minor injuries by medical personnel, he said.
