Big Brothers Big Sisters Make a Difference at Lawrenceville Elementary School
The volunteer mentoring program began at LES in January 2010.

Mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters who volunteer at were recently thanked at the Mentor Munchin’ Luncheon in the LES Media Center. Both mentors and students were “muchin’” on delicious pizza provided by the PTO! Â
This school-based volunteer mentoring program began at LES in January of 2010 with mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters visiting with their “little” or matched child weekly during lunch/recess. Mentors come to LES from The College of New Jersey, Rider University, and a state employee.Â

In good weather, the mentoring teams are out on the playground engaged in soccer, hopscotch, or other active games, and on rainy weather they are inside making crafts, playing dominoes or their favorite card game “Blink.”
At the luncheon, the children presented their mentors with original artwork, shown in the photo, featuring their mentor’s likeness.
