Kidnapping Allegedly Took Place Outside of Lawrence
While the investigation is continuing into last week's alleged kidnapping and sexual assault, a criminal complaint filed in a Pennsylania district court suggests the crimes took place after the woman and her alleged attacker left Lawrence Township.

The woman alleged to have been apparently entered Perry’s car without being physically forced to do so while in Lawrence Township because she was concerned for the welfare of a kitten Perry had been keeping.
It wasn’t until Perry had driven the woman to a park in Pennsylvania that he allegedly pulled out a handgun and assaulted her, according to a criminal complaint filed by Lower Makefield Township, Pa., police with a district court in Bucks County, Pa.
Lawrence Township Police Lt. Mark Ubry said the investigation into what actually took place in Lawrence Township is continuing but thus far no criminal charges have been filed by Lawrence Township authorities against Perry, a 64-year-old resident of Greenwood Avenue in Trenton.

According to an affidavit of probable cause signed by Lower Makefield Police Detective John Campbell and submitted to District Court Judge Michael J. Burns in Morrisville, Pa., the woman met up with Perry in Lawrence Township on Dec. 7 “in order to retrieve a kitten he was holding.”
The woman “believed that Perry was going to hurt the kitten,” the detective stated in the probable cause affidavit. Once they met up, Perry allegedly asked the woman to “go for a ride so they could talk and would not give her the kitten until she did so.”

The woman agreed and got into Perry’s car. Perry allegedly drove around New Jersey and Pennsylvania until they ended up in a parking lot at the Five Mile Woods nature preserve off Big Oak Road in Lower Makefield.
While at the park, the woman – who had a cast on her foot and used crutches to walk – “was afraid and felt helpless” and “had no ability to escape and was also afraid Perry would kill the kitten,” according to the probable cause affidavit.
Perry then allegedly pulled out a gun and, with the gun in hand, pulled down the woman’s pants and sexually assaulted her, according to the probable cause affidavit. Perry then allegedly tossed away the gun – which was later recovered in the nature preserve by authorities – and drove the woman back to New Jersey.
The woman reported the crime to Lawrence Township police who located Perry and, together with Trenton police, took him into custody near his home on Greenwood Avenue. He was later turned over to Lower Makefield police and charged in Pennsylvania before Judge Burns with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, and false imprisonment.
