Lawrence-Based CEO Lands On Trustee Board Of Nonprofit Helping Fathers

The CEO & President of Womanspace was recently named to the board of trustees of The Father Center of New Jersey.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Nathalie Nelson, the CEO and president of Lawrence-based Womanspace, has been named to the board of trustees of a nonprofit supporting New Jersey fathers.

The nonprofit, the Father Center of New Jersey in Trenton, aims to procure programs and services to support men in meeting the responsibilities of fatherhood. Initiatives include career counseling, skill building and workforce development programs.

“I am honored and eager to contribute to the growth and evolution of The Father Center, an organization that appreciates the vital role of all fathers in healthy families and communities,” Nelson said in a statement.

Nelson, a Womanspace veteran for over 10 years, previously served as the Director of Human Resources and Operations before landing her current role at Womanspace, which provides services to individuals and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Services include crisis intervention, emergency shelter, counseling, court advocacy, and housing services.

Nelson, who was named Womanspace president in 2022, has a long history with community service and nonprofit work. She has participated in Haiti’s post-earthquake recovery efforts, as well as served as a CCD teacher and soup kitchen volunteer.

Nelson is also Vice President of the East Amwell Township School PTO, Chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee, and a member of the Planning Board, according to a statement from Womanspace. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a certificate in Nonprofit Financial Management, both from Rutgers University.
