Lawrence High to Host Willy Wonka Science Night
Lawrence High School Chemistry Club to host event on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at which elementary and middle school-aged children will have fun while learning about food science.

Get your Golden Ticket and use your pure imagination at the Willy Wonka Science Night (WWSN) scheduled for two nights – Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 – at Lawrence High School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The LHS Chemistry Club within the Science and Technology Career Academy is hosting the event. LHS teacher-leader Matt Davis is the club advisor and leads this career academy.

WWSN follows the success of last fall’s Harry Potter Science Night.
The fanciful WWSN will allow elementary and middle school-aged children to have fun while learning the story behind food science.

Led by Oompa Loompas, children will tour LHS (aka the Chocolate Factory) and explore stations in which various foods are concocted by the participants. Seven stations of science/fun activities include the Fudge Room, the Popcorn Room, the Smoothie Room, the Smores Room, and the Health/Exercise Room.
WWSN is open to the first 200 children (total between the two nights) registered.
Parents must RSVP by Nov. 25 via mdavis@ltps.org or willywonka@ltps.info or (609) 671-5510 extension 6122 and may direct questions to these contacts.
Parents should relate students’ names and requested date and leave contact information in phone messages. Tickets will be sent home or emailed.
An entry fee of $5 per child will be collected at the door and refreshments will be available for purchase.
As Willy Wonka said, “invention, my dear friends, is 93 percent perspiration, 6 percent electricity, 4 percent evaporation, and 2 percent butterscotch ripple.” Come see for yourself.
