April 14: Borden Perlman Insurance, 6 vs. Lawrence FOP, 1
Ameer Hasan pitched an Opening Day six-inning complete game in the 6-1 win for Borden Perlman over Lawrence FOP. Ameer struck out 13, walked one and gave up two hits and one unearned run. It was a 1-0 pitcher’s duel into the bottom of the fourth when singles by John Weaver and Michael Streger drove in keys runs. Good defensive plays in the field by Trevor Stio and Luke Sanjek were also instrumental in the initial win for Borden Perlman.

Ben Cohen pitched a very good game for Lawrence FOP, allowing only one run into the fourth inning with seven strikeouts. Great defensive plays by Chapman Turner and Sharath Mahadevan kept the game close into the fifth inning. Liam Keane kept the game alive with a two-out single in the sixth, but was left stranded at third to end the game.

April 14: Lawrence PBA, 10 vs. Candela’s, 1
Chris Nevius pitched four innings, yielding one hit, three walks, one unearned run, and struck out 12 batters for all of the outs recorded by Lawrence PBA. He also hit a home run and had two RBIs. Jake Bennett came on in relief, striking out three and walking one in the last inning. Edward Coplin and Jack Ullman had two hits each; Jake Bennett, Spencer McClendon, Peter Teti, and Andres Trujillo one hit each.
Matthew Kildea had the lone hit for Candela’s, a double, and scored on two passed balls. Matthew Kildea, Miles Kron, and Aidan Loughran shared the pitching duties, striking out a total of nine PBA batters.

April 14: Captain Paul’s, 10 vs. Miele, 5
Captain Paul’s opened the season with a 10-5 win over Miele. Shaun Johnson, Nabil Hachicha and Aidan Kane led the way on the mound and Nabil Hachicha and Kevin DallePazze led the way defensively with great diving catches.Â
Miele was led by solid defense by Hunter Rivera and Jeff Tamasi.

April 17: Lawrence PBA, 14 vs. Miele, 6
Lawrence PBA banged out 12 hits and 14 runs in this four-inning contest, led by Jake Bennett’s three hits and two each by Spencer McClendon and Will Kocsis. Edward Coplin started on the mound for PBA and recorded three strikeouts. PBA had some excellent fielding plays by Jake Bennett, John Caccavale, Reece Schenck, and Peter Teti.
Miele scored six runs on just four hits, two by Eli Kooistra and one each by Kyle Vichroski and Mukundhan Tuppil. Miele also drew eight walks. Nate Ballard started on the mound for Miele and John Halligan came on in relief. Miele also played some good defense that shut down PBA in the second inning.

April 20: Borden Perlman Insurance, 15 vs. Lawrence PBA, 5
Southpaw Ameer Hasan led Borden Perlman to a 15-5 win over Lawrence PBA. He got his second win of the year in as many tries by striking out 11 and also contributed by going 3-for-3 at the plate including a double. John Weaver, Johnnie Bryant and Jared Featherstone combined for six hits, including two doubles and a triple to lead Borden Perlman’s 12-hit offensive attack. Good defensive plays in the field by Ronit Deshpande . Jacob Abrams and Darius McKay helped to limit the runs scored by Lawrence PBA.
For Lawrence PBA, the offense was led by Jake Bennett and Spencer McClendon each producing a double and a single. Good defensive plays were made by catcher Will Kocsis and pitcher Chris Nevius.

April 21: Miele, 17 vs. Borden Perlman Insurance, 11
Miele gained its first victory of the season, triumphing over Borden Perlman Insurance. Ethan Schuman singled, doubled, walked twice and scored three runs in the win for Miele, while Alex Ratzman and Matt Carson also scored three runs apiece. In the field, Jeff Tamasi was solid behind the plate while Hunter Rivera threw two strong innings off the mound for Miele.
For Borden Perlman, Johnnie Bryant went 2-for-2 and scored a run while Michael Straeger had a well struck RBI double in the loss. John Weaver and Ameer Hasan played solid defense at shortstop and first base for Borden Perlman.

April 14: Lukoil of Lawrenceville, 11 vs. First Choice Bank, 10
Lukoil trailed 9-to-1 entering the bottom of the fourth. They then proceeded to score 10 runs in the inning to take an 11-to-9 lead. Justin Featherston started the carnage with a clean single to center and he added another hit in the inning. Steven Sikora hit a three-run homer, Ryan Kaelblein and Matt Gunton hit doubles, and Brandon West got a single to go with his first inning triple. Matt Gunton recorded seven strikeouts in three- plus innings, Ean Dauer got the win in relief, and Brandon West picked up the save.
Logan Hilegas pitched very effective in his three innings of work recording five strikeouts while only surrendering one run. He added two hits including a double on the offensive side of the ledger. Sean Hoffman and Aidan Jodion added doubles for First Choice.

April 14: Ace Topsoil, 10 vs. Doherty Painting 1
In Opening Day action, Ace Topsoil took control early, scoring four runs in the top of the first, in their 10-1 victory over Doherty Painting in a Lawrence Little League National Division game. Doherty Painting also threatened early, loading the bases in the bottom of the first, but starting pitcher Evan Monfre worked his way out of the jam. Monfre pitched five strong innings of two hit balls, walking three and striking out 10, yielding an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth. Finn Lillis and Thomas McClaughlin led the hitting with each player going 3-for-3 and driving in three and four runs, respectively. Will Vamos and Ethan Crutchley added to the scoring by going 2-for-3 and each driving in a run.

April 16: Ace Topsoil, 10 vs. Carroll's Christmas Tree Farm, 0
Ace Topsoil followed its Opening Day performance with another strong outing against Carroll's Christmas Tree Farm, winning 10-0 and moving to 2-0 in the Lawrence Little League National Division. Finn Lillis pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout, walking two and striking out 11 in four innings of work. Lillis helped his cause at the plate going 1-for-2, scoring two runs and driving in two runs. Thomas McClaughlin followed his strong Opening Day showing with a 2-for-3 performance and two RBIs. Hans Lillis was 2-for-2, scoring three runs, while Will Vamos drove in two runs during a 2-for-2 performance.

April 18: Lukoil of Lawrenceville, 14 vs. Doherty Painting, 5
Ryan Kaelblein pitched a gem for Lukoil, surrendering one run over four innings while collecting nine strikeouts. He added two hits including a two-run triple in the first. Matt Gunton had a triple of his own to go with his single. Charlie Christoffersen hit a double.
For Doherty Painting, Joey Hiner had two hits, Tommy Sarsfield scored two runs from the leadoff spot, and Nick Cuiffreda struck out the side during his inning of relief pitching.

April 20: Lukoil of Lawrenceville, 20 vs. Doherty Painting, 5
Steven Sikora pitched four strong innings and had two hits including a double to center for Lukoil, while Ryan Kaelblein hit a triple and Brandon West hit a double.
For Doherty Painting, Joey Hiner had two hits including a double, Tommy Sarsfield hit a double and Mark Massad made several fine plays at third base.Â

April 21: Lukoil of Lawrenceville, 3 vs. Ace Topsoil, 2
Matt Gunton pitched a gem for Lukoil, going five-and-two-thirds innings allowing only one unearned run while striking out eight. He also hit a triple and threw someone out at the plate. Brandon West got the last out of regulation and pitched effectively in the one extra inning to get the win. Justin Featherston hit a game-tying double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh and scored the winning run on a line drive to center by Ryan Morris.
For Ace Topsoil, Finn Lillis matched Gunton pitch-for-pitch going five-and-a-third innings, allowing only one unearned run while striking out 12. He also hit a triple and scored the go-ahead run in extra innings. Will Vamos had two hits and drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning. Shea McGuire added a double. Â

April 14: Princeton Cougars, 14 vs. Poulson and Van Hise, 3
Princeton played flawlessly on defense while being supported by strong performances by the pitching staff. Timely hitting throughout the game from several players provided the offense.
Poulson and Van Hise opened up its season with a tough 14-3 defeat to Princeton. Gianna Oakley had two hits while Hayley Davis and Katie Smith each singled in the loss.

April 16: Poulson and Van Hise, 17 vs. Terhune Orchards, 14
In a game halted by darkness Poulson and Van Hise’s Bella Monnachio and Megan Kiernan both had two hits and two runs scored. Jessica Molinari and Kinsey Ratzman also scored twice in the victory.
Melissa Rothenberg had three hits, three runs scored and two runs batted in for Terhune. Robyn Seidman stoked two singles and score twice in the loss.

April 20: West Windsor, 16 vs. Poulson and Van Hise, 6
For West Windsor, six different players scored twice after reaching base via walks or hits.
For Poulson and Van Hise, Athena Battle and Erica Cawley both singled and scored in the loss , while Gianna Oakley and Katie Smith walked and scored runs.
