Lawrence Resident Takes Third Place in Art Show

Lawrece resident Nancy Scott was one of 12 Mercer County residents who had their artwork displayed at the 45th annual New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show held recently at Meadow Lakes Senior Living Community in East Windsor.

The Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders recently honored Lawrence resident Nancy Scott, one of 12 Mercer County residents who had their artwork displayed at the 45th annual New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show held recently at Meadow Lakes Senior Living Community in East Windsor.

The art contest showcases the work of artists 60 years and older and demonstrates the enduring quality of the creative spirit. The artists qualified for the state show by earning First Place Honors in their respective category at the Mercer County Senior Art Show held earlier in the year.

Ms. Scott, whose Mixed Media entry, “The View,” placed third in the state contest, began working in the medium after enrolling in an art class in 2010. She has since exhibited her collages in many juried shows in central New Jersey.

In addition to her accomplishments in the visual arts, Ms. Scott is the author of five books of poetry and is the managing editor of the highly regarded poetry journal, U.S. 1 Worksheets. Her visual and literary work can be found at www.nancyscott.net.
