LHS Seniors Earn Distinctions

Two Lawrence High School seniors recently received noteworthy distinctions:

Abel McDaniels received a full scholarship, early decision acceptance to the University of Pennsylvania.

Breianna Pettis, shown in the middle of the photo to the right, received her Delayed Entry Program (DEP) Badge after her swearing in ceremony in the U.S. Navy. Pictured with her are Petty Officer Stavroulakis and Petty Officer Coleman.

“Five People Skills Every Child Needs to Learn” Workshop

“Five People Skills Every Child Needs” is a free workshop for Lawrence Township parents of children in Grades Pre-K through 8 scheduled for Jan. 11, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the Lawrence High School Commons.

Organized by the character team at Lawrenceville Elementary School and made possible by a grant from the , the presentation describes five essential people skills that are part of the unspoken social curriculum for school-age children.

It offers parents practical ideas for helping children to feel more comfortable and confident in social situations. The keynote speaker is Eileen Kennedy-Moore, PhD, psychologist, author, and blogger for PsychologyToday.com.
