Lawrenceville Students Celebrate Arbor Day

On Friday, students at Lawrenceville Elementary School teamed up with township officials to plant at tree on school grounds in honor of Arbor Day.

Lawrenceville Elementary School  celebrated Arbor Day in style last week by planting a young tree, the third in a row donated by the Lawrence Township Shade Tree Advisory Committee.

Councilman Michael Powers was present to deliver a proclamation from Lawrence Mayor James Kownacki urging all citizens to celebrate Arbor Day and support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands.

Principal Judith Bronston directed the children’s portion of the program, including the reciting of a tree poem that included yoga poses by LES first graders. Third graders celebrated the tree’s arrival by lining the ground with peace pinwheels.
