Letter to the Editor: Resident Urges Mayor to Take Garbage Fee 'Off the Table'
The following is an open letter that was emailed on Thursday to Lawrence Township Mayor Jim Kownacki by Woodlane Road resident David Holland.

Mr. Mayor,
I'm writing you today to discuss the proposed garbage collection fee. I was in the room last night at the meeting, and I agree with all the people who spoke loud and clear and unanimously, they do not want more fees.Â
The vote on Tuesday should tell you and the council loud and clear, that more taxes and more fees are not the solution the residents want. I read in the paper today your quote that you thought a fee was the best solution. This is the heart of the problem. The mindset needs to be changed with your office and the council that continuing to raise taxes and raise fees is not the solution residents want.Â

Please immediately announce that garbage collection fee and any additional fees are off the table. Loud and clear, the voters have spoken that revenues to the budget need to be reduced, not increased.
Thank you,
