LMS Music Department Competes at Hershey Park Festival

Over 150 Lawrence Middle School music students from band, chorus, and orchestra recently participated in the High Note Music Festival.

Two judges with extensive music backgrounds critiqued and scored each ensemble based on a performance rubric, awarding ratings of Superior, Excellent, Good, or Fair.

The concert band under the director of Mr. Ron Taglairino and the orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Melissa Clark both received Superior ratings.

The chorus under the director of Mrs. Amy Amiet received an Excellent rating.

After the performance portion of the trip, students were rewarded with an afternoon at Hershey Park. This was the first time in many years that all three core music groups attended the Hershey Park Festival representing LMS.
