Man Stabbed Family Member In Mercer Co.: Police

The 61-year-old woman is currently in critical condition, police said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A 36-year-old man was charged for stabbing a family member in Ewing on Tuesday, authorities said.

Theodore N. McNeil of Trenton was charged with Criminal Attempt - Murder (1st degree), Aggravated Assault (2nd degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (3rd degree) and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (4th degree).

On Tuesday, around 5:10 p.m., Ewing Police received a call for two unconscious people who were found near the intersection of Pennington Road and Central Avenue.

The two were described as having injuries and being covered in blood.

On arrival, Ewing Police were directed to a home on Pennington Road where officers found a 61-year-old woman who had been stabbed. McNeil was also inside the house, where he was detained and eventually arrested, Ewing police said.

Ewing Emergency Medical Services tended to the woman, and she was taken to the hospital for further treatment. She is currently listed in critical condition.

Police did not disclose the man’s relationship with the woman.

McNeil was lodged at the Mercer County Correctional Center.
