26-Year-Old Mercer Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Altercation In Trenton: Cops
New Jersey Transit Police apprehended Jahvel Hale Monday afternoon on the River Line in Palmyra, authorities said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - A 26-year-old Mercer County resident has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Trenton last week, according to County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey.
Jahvel Hale faces charges of first-degree murder and weapons offenses. New Jersey Transit Police apprehended him Monday afternoon on the River Line in Palmyra without incident.
On May 14, around 7:05 p.m., Trenton police responded to Capital Health Regional Medical Center after a stabbing victim was dropped off by a white sedan. The victim, 48-year-old Jermaine Scott of Hamilton, underwent emergency surgery but died shortly thereafter.

Investigators from the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and Trenton Police Department identified Hale as the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses. According to authorities, the stabbing occurred on the 200 block of Tyler Street following a verbal altercation between Hale and Scott.
Prosecutors have filed a motion to detain Hale pending trial.
