Mercer Man Charged With Aggravated Sexual Assault, Attacked Woman With Rock, Glass: Cops
The prosecutor's office has filed a motion to detain Jahassan Jones pending trial.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ – A 23-year-old Trenton man attacked and sexually assaulted a woman in the city, authorities say
Jahassan Jones, 23, is charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree aggravated assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault with a weapon, and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
On the evening of May 6, a woman reported that after she refused Jones’ demand to engage in sexual intercourse, he struck her several times on her head with a rock, knocking her to the ground, and used a sharp glass object to stab her, Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey said. Jones then pulled off the woman's clothing and sexually assaulted her.

At the time of his arrest, Jones was found in possession of heroin, authorities said.
The woman remains hospitalized because of the nature of her injuries.

Jones was taken into custody in Trenton on May 7. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Jones pending trial.
