Mercer Sheriff Reminds Fans Not To Drink & Drive On Super Bowl Sunday

Despite the possibility of lingering ice or snow, residents will plan to watch the game with friends.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - The Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs for the big game in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 9. And fans are gearing up to cheer for their favorite team across New Jersey.

Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler is reminding area football fans not to drink and drive on Super Bowl Sunday.

Those who are heading out to a Super Bowl party this Sunday and plan to drink should plan ahead for a designated driver or ride service to get home safely at the end. This simple step can ensure a fun and worry-free Super Bowl Sunday, Kemler said.

“Let's all work together to have a safe Super Bowl Sunday. Whether you're attending a party, going to a bar or restaurant, or hosting a party, it's everyone's responsibility to prevent driving under the influence. Also, if you notice a fan attempting to drive while impaired, be a good teammate, take their keys, and find a way to get them home safely,” Kemler said.

Super Bowl Sunday is a day of excitement and celebration—it’s one of the biggest sporting days of the year.
