Obituary: Elsie R. Kunkle, 85

Lawrence Township resident retired as a vice president from Broad Street National Bank in 1965.

Elsie R. Kunkle, 85, of Lawrence Township died Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center.

Born in Trenton she was a resident of Lawrence for many years. Elsie retired as vice president in 1965 from the Broad Street National Bank where she was employed since she was 18 years old.

She was an active member of the Zonta Club of Mercer County and was an avid bowler.

Daughter of the late Arthur and Evelyn Mitchell Robbins, wife of the late Ray Kunkle, sister of the late Arthur, Alfred, Bert, Clifford and Harry Robbins and Evelyn Craddock, she is survived by her brother Walter Robbins and his wife Rose and numerous nieces and nephews including Joseph and his wife Sharon Craddock, Harry, Joseph, Clifford, and Dale Robbins, Debbie Hancock and Lynn Mattes, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Elsie will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd., Lawrence, with the Rev. Dirk C. Reinken, rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Friends may call on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
