Obituary: Marion M Salyga, 84

A Lawrence Township resident for the past 58 years, her funeral will be held today, May 23.

Marion M Salyga, 84, of Lawrence Township died on Friday, May 18, at The Pavillions at Forrestal Health and Rehabilitation Center in Plainsboro.

Born in Trenton, she was a Lawrence resident for the past 58 years.

Marion had worked as a ceramics engraver for Stangel Pottery in Trenton. She was also a talented seamstress, working out of her home.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. James RC Church in Trenton and was a member of the St. James Senior Citizens Club.

Marion was a devoted mother and loving grandmother and great grandmother. Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Paulina Cilibrasi DiStefano, and wife of the late Joseph E. Salyga, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Sandra Salyga; her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jerry Fischer; her grandchildren, Erica DePalma and her husband Matthew, Jennifer Simon and her husband Philip, and Robert Salyga; her great grandsons, Dean and Dominic DePalma; her two sisters-in-law, Marie and Bernice DiStefano; her special niece Peggy Solack; and many other nieces, nephews, and good friends.

She was predeceased by her four brothers, Joseph, Charles, David, and Anthony DiStefano, and her sister, Vivian Nodier.

Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd., Lawrence Township, with Rev. Santosh George of St. James RC church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
