Popular PA-Based Deli Opens New Location In Lawrence Township

Newtown-based Borscht Belt Delicatessen has a new location at the Trenton Farmers Market.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Borscht Belt Delicatessen recently celebrated the grand opening of a new deli inside the Trenton Farmers Market in Lawrence Township.

The Newtown-based Jewish deli, owned by celebrity chef Nick Liberato, and his business partner, Michael Dalewitz, will be operating the full-service New York-style deli near Pulaski Meats during market hours at 960 Spruce Street.

A few weeks after launch, the deli plans to extend its hours to a seven-day-a-week schedule for takeout, delivery, and a full catering menu.

"Our deli will truly be a fantastic addition to the Trenton Farmers Market and will certainly be a draw for locals and visitors living in and coming to Mercer County," Liberato said.

The chef is well-known from Paramount Network's “Bar Rescue” and Netflix's “Restaurants on the Edge.”

The Borscht Belt Deli won many “BEST of New Jersey” accolades while operating inside the Stockton Farmers Market.

When the Stockton Market closed, the deli moved to the Village at Newtown South where it has won the title of "Hottest Restaurant" in 2023 and 2024 from OpenTable and Eater's.

The Lawrence location menu includes various platters with fresh lox, meats, and spreads; daily fresh bagels from their partner, New York City’s famous Ess-a-Bagel; Bialy’s from Shelsky’s of Brooklyn; baked goods from Rockland and ONEG Bakery; Lower East Side pickles, homemade matzo ball and brisket/cabbage soup, kosher hot dogs, knishes, latkes and piled-high sandwiches (corned beef and pastrami Reubens) with house-made meats, and U-Bet Egg Creams and Dr. Brown’s sodas.

Coffee will be poured fresh directly with an exclusive arrangement made with award-winning, Moonraker Roasters from Philadelphia.

Located on Spruce Street, Trenton Farmers Market is a farmer-owned cooperative since 1939. They offer a wide selection of Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables, a smoke shop, Amish meats and poultry, a Polish deli, artisan cheese, baked goods, BBQ, rotisserie chicken, vegan selections, clothing, jewelry, handbags, home goods, essential and CBD oils, hand-crafted soaps and body care, sweets and nuts, donuts, local wine, burgers, steak sandwiches, and fries.
