Tractor-Trailer Flips, Closing Ramp from Route 1 to I-95

The ramp leading from northbound Brunswick Pike (Route 1) onto Interstate 95 South in Lawrence Township was closed for about three hours this morning (Thursday, April 5) after a tractor-trailer flipped onto its side while trying to negotiate the ramp.

The accident, which is under investigation by New Jersey State Police, was reported about 9:15 a.m.

The driver was not injured and had exited the cab on his own prior to the arrival of emergency personnel, authorities said.

Lawrence Township firefighters responded to contain a small amount of automotive fluids spilled from the overturned rig. A large crane from Haines Towing of Bordentown was eventually used to upright the tractor-trailer and its cargo.
