Walk Brings Fitness and Empowerment to Women

Dress for Success Worldwide, an international non-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women, announces The Power Walk for Dress for Success, which will take place in 40 international cities in May, including Hopewell, N.J., on Saturday, May 19.

The 5K event promotes active, healthy lifestyle choices for women and families and serves as a “walking testament” to the inextricable link between personal health and professional success.

What:

The Power Walk For Dress For Success – the only international 5K dedicated to the promotion of an active, healthy lifestyle for women and families. Dress for Success Mercer County is one of 40 Dress for Success affiliates to host this year’s fundraising walk towards wellness, empowerment and self-defined success.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Hopewell Campus, 410 Scotch Rd., Hopewell Township, N.J.

When:

Saturday, May 19, 2012

• 8:30 a.m. - Registration
• 9:45 a.m. - Warm-up and Opening Ceremony
• 10 a.m. - Walk starts

Who:

Children under 12 are admitted free. There will be light refreshments, a warm up and cool down activity, children's activities, prize giveaways and music and entertainment provided by 94.5 WPST.  Boomer, the Trenton Thunder Mascot, will be there to greet the kids. The Power Walk for Dress for Success is open to the public and participants are encouraged to create a team of friends, walk with family, or participate as a Virtual Walker online.

By participating walkers will help support our career development services and programs that empower disadvantaged women in central NJ and their families to achieve financial independence and self-defined success. All participation will support the programs and services of Dress for Success Mercer County.
