Barbecue and Beer Highlight Labor Day Weekend at Monmouth Park

The summer season in Oceanport will close with a large helping of barbecue and beer at Monmouth Park this weekend.

Monmouth Park's annual BBQ & Craft Beer Festival will be held on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

There will be an ample supply of ribs, pulled pork and brisket served up by local barbecue restaurants.

A beer garden will also be set up while local band After The Reign performs from noon to 4 p.m.

Some of the eateries that will be attending the festival are: Bacon On Wheels, Ben's BBQ & Catering, Big Boy Foods, Chop Shop Barbecue, George Street Alehouse, Jersey Shore BBQ, JT's Drive In, Harvest Specialty Catering, Local Smoke, Green Light Foods/Dellano, J&C Chip Stix, Four Boys Ice Cream, and Kona Ice.

General admission for the festival is $3 and food is priced a la carte. Entry into the beer garden is $10 for ten 2-ounce samples and a commemorative mini-Pilsner glass.
