Dog May Have Been Stolen In Little Silver

LITTLE SILVER, NJ — Little Silver Police say that someone may have taken a dog last Monday from the area of Silverwhite Road and White Road.

Police say the dog pictured above, "Gemma," went missing last Monday, Nov. 14 in the area of Silverwhite Road (east leg) and White Road.

It was at about 6:30 p.m. last Monday that two separate people driving by saw the dog walking alone along that road.

Both cars stopped and one of the drivers remarked to the other that the dog was wearing a collar and had tags, said Lt. Silver Police Det. Stephen Scherer. The second driver put the dog in their car and said they would return the dog to its owner.

That car drove off and that was the last Gemma was ever seen again, said the police detective.

"After speaking with the victim and the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, we are not looking to file any charges against anyone who may have Gemma. We only wish to reunite her with her family for the holidays," said Little Silver Police in this Facebook post Monday.

You can also bring Gemma to the Little Silver Police headquarters (480 Prospect Avenue, Little Silver) or any local animal hospital and remain anonymous, said police.
