Area seniors are invited to a special day of wellness and social connections from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., May 29, at the Red Bank Family YMCA, located at 166 Maple Avenue.

The free event celebrates National Senior Health & Fitness Day® and marks Older Americans Month, honoring the contributions of older adults in communities across the country. In Monmouth County, seniors comprise 19.4 percent of the total population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

“The Y is dedicated to keeping seniors engaged, active, and healthy,” said Laurie Goganzer, president and chief executive officer of the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County. “We strive to make the Y a hub for social connections and wellness activities that contribute to overall well-being,” she added.
