Vote In Oceanport's Competitive Republican Primary Tuesday

Six Republicans will seek three seats June 6 in Oceanport. Here's who's running and what to know:

LITTLE SILVER, NJ — Primary Election day in New Jersey is June 6.

Little Silver does not have a competitive primary, but Oceanport does, with four Republicans seeking two seats on the Oceanport town Council, plus mayor.

Mayor Thomas Tvrdik, Richard Gallo and Bryan Keeshen will be challenged by Keith Salnick, Danielle Lacko and Dana Pisane. All are Republican.

Six are running; voters will be asked to choose three. No Democrats are running.

Republican Mayor Robert Neff, Kevin Brennan and Chris Faherty will all seek re-election to town council. There are no Democratic challengers.

How to vote in the primary on Tuesday:

Unaffiliated registered voters may choose to vote in either the Democratic Primary Election or the Republican Primary Election. If voting in person, either early or on Primary Election Day, an unaffiliated voter will declare their party affiliation at the polls before voting in the Primary Election.

Voters can choose one of the following options to return their Mail-In ballot:

  • Mail the ballot through the United States Postal Service. Mail-In Ballots must be postmarked on or before 8 pm on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 6.
  • Drop the ballot in a designated drop box by 8 pm on June 6.

There is a ballot drop box outside the Oceanport municipal building.

EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING

In-person early voting will open Friday, June 2 through Sunday, June 4. Hours will be Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Vote-By-Mail Ballots cannot be returned to in-person early voting polling locations or Primary Election Day polling locations.

Polls in New Jersey will be open from 6 am to 8 pm on Primary Election Day.
