The Oceanport Board of Education (BOE) will not have an unoccupied seat in 2014 after all.

A late write-in campaign allowed Marion Wilhalme to be elected to a third seat on the board with incumbents William McVitty and Spencer Carpenter.

Wilhalme received close to 100 votes, which is enough for her to be elected to the board. There were 127 total write-in votes.

McVitty received 1,286 votes and Carpenter got 1,271 votes.

The Little Silver Board of Education race was uncontested this year as incumbent Meghan Clark and newcomer Andrew Walsh were elected on Tuesday night.

Clark received the most votes with 1,319, while Walsh garnered 1,291 votes.
