4. The 8th annual JVS/MetroWest synagogue JOBATHON (“Jobathon 8”) will take place on Sunday, January 23,  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Aidekman Campus, 901 Route 10, Whippany. Over the past six years, the JVS job “phonathons," utilizing 30 phones, have generated hundreds of job leads. Representatives from many congregations, using their own synagogue phone lists (pre-targeted to identify employers and business contacts) and a JVS script, make phone calls to their fellow congregants asking for information about potential job opportunities.

At last year’s Jobathon, 76 representatives from 29 synagogues and Jewish community organizations made calls actively identifying close to 200 job leads. You too can help members of the MetroWest Jewish Community who have found themselves unemployed or under-employed as a result of the impact of the current economic crisis. More information is available from JVS Event Coordinator Jayne Waltzer @ jwaltzer@jvsnj.org or call (973) 674-6330, extension 311.
