Barking Dogs Alert Livingston Homeowner To Burglary Attempt: Police
A Livingston resident woke up when she heard her dogs barking. Here's what happened next, police say.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — A Livingston resident was alerted to a burglary attempt in progress when her dogs started barking last week, authorities say.
According to the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to a home on Sycamore Terrace at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday after getting a report about a burglary attempt.
The homeowner told officers that she woke up when she heard her dogs barking. Watching via a home security app, she saw three masked suspects on her front porch, trying to get into the home through a window.

The suspects didn’t gain access to the home and fled the scene in a white 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The vehicle was found unoccupied in Millburn, police said.
An investigation continues, Livingston police said Monday.
