Bloomfield Driver Crashes Into Tree In Livingston: Police

The driver had a medical episode. She drifted between lanes, hit a curb, went off the road and crashed into a tree, police said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A driver from Bloomfield had a medical episode and crashed into a tree in Livingston last week, authorities say.

Livingston police officers responded to the area of West Mount Pleasant Avenue and Grand Terrace at 4:16 p.m. on May 20 after getting a report about a vehicle crashing into a tree.

“The driver – a 35-year-old woman from Bloomfield – was traveling eastbound on West Mount Pleasant Avenue when she suffered a medical episode, drifted from the left lane to the right lane, struck a curb, went off of the roadway, crossed over Grand Terrace and collided into a tree on the corner of West Mount Pleasant Avenue and Grand Terrace. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.”

The driver was transported to the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Her injuries were not life-threatening at the time, police said.
