New Principal, 2 Assistant Principals Appointed
Hillside Elementary School will get a new principal in the fall, while Livingston High School and Heritage Middle School will each have a new assistant principal.
One new principal and two assistant principals were appointed to lead three Livingston schools Monday by the Board of Education.
Carlos Gramata Jr. will take over as the new principal of Hillside Elementary School. Gramata comes to Livingston from the Woodland Park School District, where he has been an elementary school principal for the past three years at Beatrice Gilmore Elementary School.
Gramata also previously worked in North Brunswick for nine years as a teacher, language arts coordinator and Director of Elementary Instruction, among other positions. He will replace current Principal Cara Szeles.

Dr. Gregory Vacca will join the team at Livingston High School and become an assistant principal starting July 1.
Vacca comes to Livingston with 16 years of English teaching experience, including the past eight years at Summit High School. During that time, he worked to not only hone his teaching skills, but also in becoming a school leader serving on the Strategic Planning, Curriculum Assessment, Professional Development, CORE, and Middle States committees.

Vacca will be replacing current Principal Brian Deutsch, who will be stepping down at the end of the school year.
At Heritage Middle School, Robert Grosso was appointed as assistant principal. Grosso, currently Dean of Students and a health and physical education teacher in the district, will assume additional duties in this newly created position. He has been employed by Livingston School District since 2002.
