First Baby Of 2026 Rings In New Year At Livingston Hospital

The newborn joins two older brothers and a sister.

LIVINGSTON, NJ – A hospital in Essex County welcomed its first baby of the new year on Thursday – and he didn’t waste any time ringing in 2026.

Elian Samir was born at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston at 6:55 a.m. He weighed eight pounds and two ounces.

The newborn joins his two older brothers and a sister. Hospital staff offered a hearty congratulations to his parents, Aida and Manuel.
