Give-back Music Concert for Seniors at CareOne Livingston

Local young volunteers performed a heartwarming classical concert for residents, spreading joy and connection through music

LIVINGSTON, NJ — October 19, 2025 — A heartwarming Give-Back Music Concert was held at CareOne at Livingston, bringing together residents, staff, and families for an afternoon filled with classical music and community spirit. The event was co-organized by William Sun, a ninth-grade student at Newark Academy and a committee chair at AYLUS West Essex Branch, and Ms. Jennifer Storms, Recreation Director at CareOne Livingston, with the full support of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS), West Essex Branch. Special thanks to Ms. Alla Iovel, an inspiring piano instructor, for nurturing young musicians and encouraging her talented students to perform today.

The concert featured ten talented young musicians performing a variety of classical works on piano and violin. Their graceful performances filled the room with emotion, evoking the timeless beauty of composers such as Chopin, Beethoven, Schubert, Haydn, and Massenet. Residents smiled, tapped along, and described the afternoon as “truly unforgettable.”

William served as the host for the event, introducing each performer and piece with poise and enthusiasm. “I love serving to give back to the community, and I’ve volunteered locally for three years.” William shared. “But this was my first time leading such a large event. It took more than a month of planning. It was challenging but also incredibly rewarding to see everyone smiling.”
