Juneteenth In Livingston: 2025 Flag Raising, Closures, Garbage/Recycling

The Township of Livingston will be observing the Juneteenth holiday. Here are some things to know.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Township of Livingston will be observing the Juneteenth holiday for 2025.

According to a municipal advisory, the Livingston Committee for Diversity and Inclusion will commemorate the fourth annual celebration of Juneteenth from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 19. The public is invited to attend a flag-raising ceremony at Town Hall, 357 South Livingston Avenue.

All township offices in Livingston will be closed on Friday, June 20 in recognition of Juneteenth. All offices will reopen during regular business hours on Monday, June 23.

RECYCLING, GARBAGE

Garbage and recycling will be collected according to the normal Friday schedule. Any questions about garbage and recycling pickup should be directed to Livingston’s collection vendors:

METAL RECYCLING

There will be no metal pickup on Friday, June 20.

Metal recycling pickup will resume on Friday, June 27; register by noon on Thursday, June 26.

Residents are reminded that the metal pickup request form will not be available the week of June 16 through 20. Register online for metal pickup starting Monday, June 23 at livingstonnj.org/Metal
