The Livingston High School Band Boosters will host their annual Dinner Dance Fundraiser, “Puttin’ On the Ritz – Swinging Through the Ages from the Roaring 1920s to the Rocking 2020s,” on Saturday, May 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will take place in the Livingston High School cafeteria, which will be transformed into a 1920s-themed jazz nightclub. Guests are encouraged to wear vintage or old Hollywood Glamour-style attire and will enjoy an evening of live music, dancing, and a buffet dinner.
The musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by the talented musicians of the Livingston High School Lancer and Lab Jazz Bands. Under the direction of Mr. James Hegedus and Mr. Michael Jedwabnik, the ensembles will perform a wide-ranging repertoire that celebrates the evolution of jazz and popular music over the past century. The program will feature both timeless standards and contemporary selections, including Big John's Special by Horace Henderson, Goodbye Pork Pie Hat by Charles Mingus, It Had Better Be Tonight by Henry Mancini, Take the A Train by Duke Ellington, Always and Forever by Pat Metheny, and The Lady Is a Tramp by Richard Rodgers.

The Jazz Band Dinner Dance serves as both a celebration of student achievement and a vital fundraising initiative. Proceeds from the event support the LHS Band Boosters programs, providing essential resources for all Livingston High School band students—including the jazz bands, concert bands, and the marching band/color guard. Funds raised support the purchase or upgrade of equipment, master classes with professional artists and clinicians, and scholarships for graduating seniors. The Livingston High School Band Boosters is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, run by parent volunteers dedicated to enriching the Livingston community. We invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening in support of the LHS Band Programs!
Tickets can be purchased online at www.lhsbandboosters.org or at the door on the night of the event. Ticket prices are $40 for adults, $25 for senior citizens, $20 for students, and $10 for children under 10.
