Livingston High Alumnus Wins Tony Award

Stephen Oremus won the Tony Award Sunday. He graduated from Livingston High School in 1989.

Livingston High School alumnus Stephen Oremus won a Tony Award for Best Orchestration for the musical "Kinky Boots" on Sunday. 

Oremus, who graduated from Livingston High School in 1989, was awarded the Tony for the new Broadway show with music by Cyndi Lauper. The musical walked away with six Tony Awards, including best musical, best score and best leading man. 

In 2012, Oremus was inducted into the Livingston High School Hall of Fame.

" for which he received the 2011 Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Orchestrations. He also received a 2012 Grammy award as a producer of "The Book of Mormon" original Broadway cast recording.

Oremus was the music supervisor and arranger of the original Broadway and subsequent worldwide productions of "Wicked" and "Avenue Q," which he also orchestrated.
