LIVINGSTON, NJ — Usually, it’s a good idea to avoid getting pulled over by the cops. But that’s the entire point of a new program in Livingston, which is aimed at educating newly licensed drivers.
According to a recent social media post from the Livingston Police Department:
“We are announcing a new program where we will take appointments for new drivers who want to participate in a mock motor vehicle stop with our officers. We will explain the typical procedures for a motor vehicle stop, answer any questions and then allow the participant to engage with an officer and experience a routine traffic stop in a controlled setting.”
The program will be offered on Thursdays between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. at the Livingston Police Department, 333 South Livingston Avenue. Pre-registration is required (click here).
